Tamil Conference

Will it make any difference!?

I know when people getting older the sense will go down. But I did not know they will become mad. If the CM loose the sense then what will happen to the state?? When I read the news about Tamilnadu CM's talk in the opening ceremony of the Tamil conference. I was just laughing, what else can do?

He praised himself like anything. He was praising about this history and his growth. Who wants your history? How will it link to Tamil? Who are you to write the theme song? Do you think no one else better than you in Tamilnadu? BTW how did you forget Kamal, Rajini, Namitha, kushpoo, Ranjitha, etc, etc?

Even in Cinema, I never seen Hero or Villan or Comedian praising himself/herself as how our CM had did. Hmmm yes, he himself is a BIG ACTOR.

More than that some people linking this conference with the people died in Srilanka. One of my friend put his status message saying that why do we need this conference while Tamil people are dying. I don't know how people linking this. I was tying to explain my friend that this conference is nothing to do with the people in Srilanka. But he could not understand anything. Even if they conduct or don't conduct this conference will not make any difference in Srilankan Tamilians life.

This whole conference is just for getting popularity before he dies.

Hmmm, lets hope at least they will find some right way to improve Tamil and not by giving tax free to the movies, and not by forcing people to write the name board in Tamil, and not by forcing to study only in Tamil.

One more doubt I have regarding Tamil pronunciation. Mani and Me were discussing some few months back how to pronounce "KA". Some people pronounce as "GA" and some people pronounce as "HA". I could see this differences in the movie songs. For example, the word "Pokuthe" pronounced as "Poguthe" by some people and "Pohuthe" by some people. I don't know what is correct. Anyhow even if you pronounce in either way the meaning is same. So it doesn't matter how you pronounce.

I feel the complete language should capable to describe all the type of sound. But in Tamil, we can't write "Ha", "Ga", "Fa", "Ba" and "Sha". Why don't they include these letters in Tamil?

We should instead look at/write about Tamil instead of Karunanidhi. This blog post of yours is just helping his cause! :(

  5. @Nik - We are going to have Engineering courses in Tamil!

Sure, it will make big difference. But I guess this is going to happen not only because of this conference. There was a talk about it from long time.

Yes, why not the language can't produce all the type of sound? Tell me any sound which is not possible to describe.

I did not mean that we need to improve Tamil. I just meant to say that giving tax free and forcing some one to write in Tamil is not the right way. If at all they want to develop let them find the right way.

This is to celebrate and influence awareness and confidence about it in people. Also discuss how to overcome the challenges it presents. Only civil and mechanical engineering are being introduced now. That is what conferences are meant to be.

How can I tell that using English? I can make those sounds in-person or phone. No language has/can have support to express all sounds. Even the phonetic symbols¹ used in dictionaries cannot be used to describe all sounds.

My Chinese friend said it is impossible to write and convey my name in Chinese. He could write my name. But if I don't teach someone how to pronounce it, they will never pronounce it as I want.

Who am I to scold you? You didn't disturb me. Just my thoughts.

BTW I read in வாரமலர் that USA is sponsoring such studies and research about Indian languages, culture and caste to make sure that Indians are divided into groups.
